The Cabinet has given its nod for going ahead with the proposal for availing coal block in Chhattisgarh. Disclosing this to reporters, Chief Minister Digambar Kamat said that Goa was the only State so far, which had not even applied for a coal block. The Centre awards coal blocks to every State, in various parts of the country, and whatever coal is mined is used at the plant to generate power.
Come December 4 and the Margao Municipal Council will kick off an intensive campaign across the Commercial Capital to create awareness amongst the citizens on waste segregation and door-to-door garbage collection. The campaign is intended to bring about awareness on waste segregation as the civic body will start door-to-door garbage collection from six municipal wards from January 1, 2009.
