Saline water inundates Velim
Large tracts of low lying fields in the Velim and Ambelim villages have been left inundated after saline waters entered the area through the sluice gate under construction. Saline water made its presence felt in the fields since Sunday evening and inundated low lying fields in the areas of Pedda, Sokoband and as far as Zaino in Velim.

The Soil Conservation Section of the Agriculture Department, in-charge of repairs of bundhs, has not been able to undertake repairs of bundhs during last six months for want of red soil.
