BHUBANESWAR: Parliamentary Affairs Minister Raghunath Mohanty today said that the State Government had decided to construct more reservoirs to tackle flood, drought and create irrigation facility. To a question from Pratap Sarangi (Ind), the Minister said that till now construction of eight large and 38 medium reservoirs had been completed. Work on 16 reservoirs was in progress.
The budget reiterates the government
The budget is good but not as reformist as expected. Instead, it's welfare-oriented. The thanksgiving through rural employment, which if it reaches the bottom population, would be a big boost. We were expecting much more investment in irrigation as there are 400 projects waiting to be completed. I wonder what happened to the proposed National Rainfed Area Authority?
