Karnataka is likely to be the first state in the country to have an exclusive budget for agriculture with a corpus fund of Rs 5,000 crore per year. Agriculture Minister Umesh Katti said here on Wednesday that discussions with the chief minister were on to present a separate agriculture budget.

UT prepares draft of 2011-12 Annual Plan
The UT Administration has made projections amounting to Rs 912.12 crore for the Annual Plan 2011-12. This includes Rs 663.42 crore under normal State Plan scheme and Rs 248.70 crore under Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission. The draft plan proposals for the annual plan were discussed in a meeting held today. The recommendations in the budget have put thrust on education and health services.
