Report on urban transport in Europe
The Green Paper on urban transport will address all transport modes, including walking, cycling, motor cycles and motor vehicles, and will cover both urban freight (and logistics) and passenger transport. The functioning of the private car in cities will be addressed. In addition, the paper will emphasise the need for an integrated policy approach. The paper will have a strong technology component and may also address issues related to the Commission's proposals on public service obligations in public transport and clean vehicle procurement. The present report on urban transport in Europe constitutes the support document for the preparation of the Green Paper on Urban Transport.
