As part of the 25th anniversary celebrations of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China, the two countries have signed an agreement on joint research in the use of herbal medicine to treat cancer and aids .
The cooperation will be carried out between the Kunming Institute of Botany ( kib ) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Thailand's public health ministry of finance. According to the agreement, the Chinese scientists will be responsible for carrying out research of pharmaceutics and pharmacology, while the Thai side will carry out research in clinical practise.
Both sides expressed confidence that through close co-operation the two countries may obtain a larger share of the world market of natural medicine.
