Cool and dangerous
The UK government has been making efforts to get the European Union to ban a self-cooling drink can that uses HFC134a, one of the most powerful human-made greenhouse gases. The aerosol can be packed inside a drinks can. The liquid inside is released into the air when a button at the bottom of the can is pressed. The aerosol container cools down, cooling the liquid in the can. The aerosol has been developed by the Joseph Company of California (Enviro News, Vol 3, No 3).
