Hazardous waste generating units directed to obtain authorisation
All hazardous waste generating industries in Goa have been via a notice issued by the Goa State Pollution Control Board directed to make an application to the Board on or before January 4, 2010, for obtaining authorisation as required under the Hazardous Waste (Management, Handling and Trans-boundary Movement) Rules, 2008, notified under the Environment Protection Act, 1986.

50 fall ill after drinking contaminated water

F&D inspectors check meals
Food and Drugs inspectors visited the St Teresa of Jesus High School, Chaudi-Canacona on Friday morning to inspect the meals supplied by the contractor, accused of preparing contaminated meals to the school on Tuesday. The FDA inspectors also checked the school surroundings, before making a second visit to the kitchen of the self-help group that prepared the meals.
