AHMEDABAD: If the BRTS promised you a bus every 3 minutes during peak hours and every six minutes during off-peak hours, the metro rail frequency was designed for a metro every 5 minutes during the peak hours while it extended to 15 minutes during off-peak hours. Not only this, the proposed Ahmedabad metro was designed to handle 32 per cent more passengers than Delhi metro.
AHMEDABAD: Ahmedabad Janmarg Limited (AJL), the governing body for Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) operations, is wasting no time in purchasing 480 buses to run on feeder and main routes. The proposal for purchasing the buses has to be sent to the Union urban development ministry to avail the rolling stock fund by June 30 under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).

But, if one goes by the DMRC report, a cost of Rs 40 lakh for each day delayed was calculated for the project.
