Maharashtra sanctions Power to 11 Lavasa villages
Nine months after the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co Ltd (MSEDCL) first conducted a survey for electrification of seven villages around the Lavasa Lake City, the state government has finally sanctioned Rs3.88 crore to electrify the villages. Rs. 2216 cr scheme for Reducing Power Losses

The Power Distribution companies are establishing an IT based metering system for energy audit as well as infrastructure with an aim to reduce the losses.

DoNER approves projects worth Rs 78 crore for Sikkim
Gangtok: The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) has approved projects to the tune of Rs 78.50 crore in the spheres of education, power and water resources in Sikkim. The costs of the projects will be met from the Non Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) fund administered by the Ministry, a DoNER press release said.
