PARADIP: POSCO would start the steel plant construction work with the cooperation of villagers, underlined Dong Ho Oh, general manager (planning), Posco-India, yesterday. He was interacting with mediapersons before the finalisation of Posco package at RPDAC meeting. The rehabilitation package would change the minds of antagonists, he exuded confidence while urging the villagers to cooperate.
As part of its plan to infuse about Rs 13,400 crore towards development in 35 districts worst hit by the Naxalite problem in nine states, the government plans to earmark about Rs 500 crore to create facilities to ensure deployment of personnel, like teachers and health workers among others, required for the delivery of essential services in those areas.
