An elevated BRT will raise cost, delay project: experts
Mumbai: Even as the authorities explore possibility of an elevated route for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system in the city, transport experts are not impressed with the idea. While Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has decided on two pilot routes on the Eastern and Western Express Highways, consultants are now studying the feasibility of an elevated BRT corridor.

AHMEDABAD: Centre's allocation of Rs 11,842 crore in interim Budget for JNNURM projects in mission cities across country has come as a blessing in disguise for Gujarat and its four mega cities. Most of these projects in Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot and Vadodara that had approvals, are in various stages of implementation and were clocking delays awaiting fresh releases from the state and Centre.

Sheila blames wrong signage for BRT chaos
After putting the public transport infrastructure in place, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Thursday emphasised the need for a public awareness campaign to educate the masses on how to use the roads of the city. Dikshit also stressed on the importance of signage in road transport and blamed wrongly placed signage on BRT corridor for jam and chaos on the stretch.
