THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Around 50,000 loads of sand is expected to be mined from Aruvikkara dam. The mining of sand will begin in a full-fledged manner next week.
IDUKKI: Kerala will submit a detailed project report to the Centre over the proposed construction of a new dam at Mullaperiyar in place of the existing structure within six months. This was stated by N K Parameswaran Nair, convenor of the three-member Mullaperiyar cell recently set up by the state government, after visiting the spot today where the survey for the new dam had been completed.
