The Indian Fisheries Association has decided to honour the Department of Fisheries Assam with Fisheries Development Award 2009-10 for excellence in promoting pisciculture. The award will be conferred on December 29 in Mumbai as part of the 20th All India Zoological Congress. The association has invited State Fisheries Minister Noor Zamal Sarkar to receive the honour, a press release stated.
