Order of the National Green Tribunal regarding a hotel operating near Nahargarh Wildlife Sanctuary, Jaipur, Rajasthan, 25/03/2025
Order of the National Green Tribunal (Central Zone Bench, Bhopal) in the matter of Rajendra Tiwari Vs Union of India & Others dated 25/03/2025.
The matter related to the illegal operation of Hotel Indana Palace at the distance of 95 meters from the boundary of Nahargarh Wildlife Sanctuary and commercial the establishment also falls within the Eco Sensitive Zone of Nahargarh Wildlife Sanctuary. Requisite permission such as recommendations of National Wildlife Board, permission from the State Forest Department, Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board and Central Ground Water Authority has also not been obtained.
The applicant also mentioned the illegal commercial and non forest activities being carried out in the village Nangal Sunsawatan, Jaipur within the periphery of Eco Sensitive Zone of Nahargarh Wildlife Sanctuary.
The NGT called for a report on the matter from a four member committee which would also comprise of Principal Chief Conservator of Forest-cum Chief Wildlife Warden, Forest Department, Rajasthan. The committee is directed to visit the site and submit the factual and action taken report within six weeks.
