Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Yasin Vs State of Haryana dated 17/12/2024.
In the application, the applicant has raised the grievance against the construction of a road in village Basai Meo, Tehsil Ferozpur Jhirka, District Nuh. It is alleged that the road is being built in the guise of the village consolidation process and it is being built in violation of the environmental norms.
Counsel for the applicant has submitted that the road is being constructed through the forest area and the same will adversely affect the forest. The applicant has alleged violation of Section 2 of the Forest (Conservation) Act, and violation of Sections 6, 32, 33 and 63 of the Indian Forest Act, 1927 and issue of health hazard created on account of the construction of the said road has also been raised and further, it is stated that illegal road construction has disrupted the natural drainage system in the village leading to waterlogging in certain areas.
The NGT directed notice be issued to the respondents for filing their reply by way of affidavit.
