Order of the National Green Tribunal regarding pipeline laid by the Gas Authority of India Limited at village Milak Kharakpur Baaje, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, 05/02/2024
Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Adesh Kumar Yadav Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 05/02/2024.
In the application, an allegation has been made that Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) was carrying out illegal construction, in violation of the environmental norms, at village Milak Kharakpur Baaje, PS Katghar, block Munda Pandey, tehsil and district Moradabad which comes under the flood plain zone of river Ramganga and river Gagan.
The reports on behalf of the District Magistrate, Moradabad and UPPCB has been filed which states that the pipeline is being laid by the Gas Authority of India Limited.
The NGT, February 5 directed notice to be issued to the Gas Authority of India Limited and the Irrigation Department, Uttar Pradesh.
The District Magistrate, Moradabad was directed to get the demarcation of the flood plain zone of the river in question done in accordance with the River Ganga (Rejuvenation, Protection and Management) Authorities Order, 2016 and file the report.
