Order for the High Court for the state of Telangana regarding safety measures at government schools and colleges in Telangana.
The petitioner seeks a writ of Mandamus to the authorities concerned to provide sufficient number of fire extinguishers and to get structural safety and soundness certificate, sanitation certificate, water purity certificate, periodically, in respect of government schools, junior colleges across Telangana. The High Court granted four weeks' time to the authorities to file a compliance report on the issue.
The PIL questioned the state's implementation of the guidelines contained in the National Disaster Management Authority Guidelines for School Safety Policy, 2016.
