Operation of the solid waste processing plant in village Rangadi, Kullu under NGT scanner
The NGT, September 14 directed the Executive Officer, Municipal Council, Manali, Himachal Pradesh to file a fresh status report regarding the illegal dumping of solid waste by the solid waste processing plant in the gram panchayat area of Shallen, village Rangadi, post Kalath, tehsil Manali, district Kullu. Municipal Council was also directed to file action taken report against the service provider, if they are not performing as per norms.
The court expressed its unhappiness with the report of the joint inspection committee and said information given was unconvincing particularly in in-terms of quantification of waste for generation, processing, remediation of legacy waste and end destination of rejects/residue components like RDF, biodegradable.
