Order of the National Green Tribunal regarding damage to forest area in Kufri due to plying of horses, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, 12/07/2023
Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Shailendra Kumar Yadav Vs State of Himachal Pradesh dated 12/07/2023.
Grievance of the applicant is that by continuous plying of horses, the forest area in Kufri is adversely being damaged and no remedial action is being taken by the district administration.
The court directs constitution of a committee consisting of Divisional Forest Officer, Shimla and Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Shimla to hold a meeting of District Administration and after having their suggestions, take remedial measures which are required to be taken including forest clearance. This exercise may be completed within two months and action taken report be filed before the next date of hearing, October 3, 2023, the order said.
