Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of M/s Fomra Housing and Infrastructure Private Limited Vs The Chairman, Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board & Others dated 14/02/2023.
The matter related to a unit operating in a residential area and dealing with various kinds of acids and industrial chemicals in Chettiar Agaram village, Chennai district.
The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board had filed a report based on the information given by the unit, Gee Emm Aar Chemical that they are stocking more than 7,000 Kgs of various chemicals in their godown. The SPCB informed the court that they had not given approval for it.
The NGT directed the SPCB to file a detailed report in consonance with the Manufacture, Storage and Import of Hazardous Chemicals Rules, 1989.
