Air pollution and the world of work: policies, initiatives and the current situation – a scoping and evidence review for Southeast and East Asia

This scoping report synthesizes the authors’ initial work to understand the differentiated impacts of air pollution on workers in East and Southeast Asian countries and to identify evidence-based recommendations from regional case studies to help improve air quality and foster healthy employment in the context of just transitions towards a low-carbon economy. Air pollution is a growing global threat to human health and, by extension, occupational health, the environment, and economies. This scoping report aims to assess the current state of knowledge of the interlinkages between air pollution and the world of work in East and Southeast Asia, in order to identify knowledge gaps to be filled through further case studies.
