Order of the National Green Tribunal regarding discharge of sewage into the storm water drains by Kalher Gram Panchayat, Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, 24/01/2022
Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Ameet V Shah Vs State of Maharashtra dated 24/01/2022. Grievance in the application is for resolving the issue by way of a well-planned and approved drainage/sewage system in the area of Puranik Villa CHS, Kasheli, Bhiwandi. It is stated that drain outlets from buildings in Kalher Gram Panchayat are discharging foul-smelling liquid into the storm water drains of the society which is very dangerous to the health of the residents.
The NGT directed the Municipal Commissioner, Bhiwandi as well as District Magistrate, Bhiwandi to look into the grievance and take remedial action in accordance with law after following due process.
