Draft Central Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 2021
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) on October 21, 2021 has issued Draft Central Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 2021 to further amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989. The amendment in the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 are as follows: In 138 (7) which specifies “On and after one year from the date of publication of these rules, the driver of a motorcycle shall ensure the following safety measures while carrying a child between the age of 0 and 4 years, on the vehicle as a pillion”, has been inserted.
