Central Motor Vehicles (Fifteenth Amendment) Rules, 2021
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on July 15, 2021 has issued Central Motor Vehicles (Fifteenth Amendment) Rules, 2021 to further amend the Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989. The following amendments have been made: In rule 81, which specifies Fees, after serial no 15, following rules have been inserted, namely: Rule 81C - Registration and Issue of certificate of registration for Vintage Motor Vehicles – Rs.20,000. Rule 81C - Re-registration/ Renewal of certificate of registration for Vintage Motor Vehicles – Rs.5,000. Chapter III-A, which specifies SPECIAL PROVISION FOR REGISTRATION OF VINTAGE MOTOR VEHICLES, has been inserted, namely: Rule 81A. Procedure of application and issuance of Certificate of Registration as a Vintage Motor Vehicle.– (1) An application for registration or re-registration of a vintage vehicle shall be made as per Form 20 and every application for registration shall be accompanied by, a policy of insurance; appropriate fee as specified in rule 81; Bill of Entry in the case of imported vintage motor vehicles; and old Registration Certificate in case of already registered vehicle in India.
