Order of the Bombay High Court regarding CSR funds for strengthening health care system in Vidarbha, 19/05/2021
Order of the Bombay High Court (Nagpur Bench) dated 19/05/2021. The matter related to availability of CSR funds with private sector companies in Vidarbha region with the aim to strengthen the health care system, especially in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The High Court expressed its disappointment with the response received from both public and private sector companies. The Divisional Commissioner, Nagpur and the Divisional Commissioner, Amravati have been directed to obtain complete information regarding availability of CSR funds with all the companies operating in their respective divisions. The Divisional Commissioner, Nagpur and the Divisional Commissioner, Amravati have been asked by the court to make a request for release of CSR funds.
In addition, the HC asked the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority and Central Drug Controller to issue necessary directions as regards regulation of production of the drugs to treat Mucormycosis, increase of production capacity and distribution of these drugs to different states of India.
