Report on air pollution at and around railway godown, Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, 29/02/2020
Compliance report by the railways to the directions issued by the National Green Tribunal vide order dated October 11, 2019 regarding remedial action against pollution at and around railway godown, Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh in the course of loading and unloading of cement, fertilizers and grains by trucks, polluting the air quality and causing respiratory problems. The joint inspection team comprised of divisional officers under the supervision of ADRM of Lucknow division of the railway goods siding of Faizabad railway station.
The compliance report mentioned that during the loading /unloading of goods all the labourers involved are wearing masks and are not using hooks in order to avoid the hazardous effect to their health and the dust particles are not going into the air from the bags. Loaded trucks are fully covered with tarpaulin to avoid the movement of dust particles from the loaded trucks and that 120 trees have been planted near the boundary wall of siding for which surface has been levelled and work under process.
