Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Virendra Kumar Vs State of Punjab dated 20/11/2019 regarding illegal operation of brick kilns in Fazilka and Mukatsar Districts of Punjab.
Pending conversion of zig-zag technology, certain brick kilns were allowed to continue up to September 30, 2019 in areas other than non-attainment cities according to the report submitted by the Punjab State Pollution Control (PSPCB) and the District Magistrate, Fazilka.
The NGT directed another report to be filed to ascertain the present status of the operation of such brick kilns and its impact on air quality within two weeks.
