Order of the National Green Tribunal regarding notification of eco-sensitive zone of Western Ghats, 03/09/2019
Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Goa Foundation Vs Union of India & Others dated 03/09/2019. This application seeks enforcement of order dated 24.08.2018 whereby the matter of notification of Eco-sensitive Zone in the Western Ghats was directed to to be finalised within six months. MoEF&CC has informed the Tribunal that except for the state of Gujarat, all other states have submitted their responses.
The NGT gives Gujarat, one month's time to submit its response and after that the MoEF&CC should finalize the matter in two months. Any expert opinion can be taken during that period and report filed by November 15, 2019.
