Order of the National Green Tribunal regarding desilting of drains, Delhi, 25/07/2019
Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Shri Shri Thakur Ram Chandra Dev Association Vs South Delhi Municipal Corporation & Others dated 25/07/2019 regarding execution of order dated 01.08.2016 directing South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) to clean and de-silt all the drains lying within its territorial area, particularly the drain abutting the Ram Thakur Mandir along the Mehrauli-Badarpur road and complete such work within one month.
The drains were to be kept clean and de-silted to avoid waterlogging of the temple area. Neither the the drain is being desilted nor cleaned, according to the applicant - Shri Shri Thakur Ram Chandra Dev Association.
NGT directs SDMC to submit a report on the matter within a month.
