Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000
In order to avoid noise pollution all territory shall be classified in industrial, commercial, residential or silence areas/zones The noise levels in any area/zone shall not exceed noise standards in terms of air quality; The use of amplifiers and loudspeakers is restricted to certain facilities.Annexed Schedules details air quality standards for noise emission in the various areas.
