Global programme to eliminate lymphatic filariasis
The Global Programme to Eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis (GPELF) was launched in 2000, aiming to stop the spread of infection and alleviate suffering. Mass drug administration (MDA) is the recommended preventive chemotherapy (PC) strategy of delivering safe, anthelminthic drugs to populations at risk of LF to prevent morbidity due to infection and interrupt transmission.
