Pollution: What Will it Take for Us to Clean Up Our Act?
India has the uncomfortable honour of being one of the most polluted countries in the world with 13 of its cities on that list, and the national capital prominently on it. An alarming number of school children have asthma or other respiratory disorders in spite of efforts to enforce guidelines for industry, the use of cleaner fuel, or encourage public transport. Nothing seems to work, nothing seems to help. The Prime Minister's Swachh Bharat Campaign to help clean up the filth that surrounds us received much support when it was launched, but do we as citizens treat pollution as only a government problem?
