Annual health survey 2012-13: Rajasthan
The percentage of fully immunized children in the age group 12-23 months has increased noticeably in the state, points out the recently released annual health survey (AHS) 2012-13. The percentage of fully immunized kids has increased to 74.2% from 69% in state. On the flip side, there are several districts in the state where children received no vaccination. There are over 5.8% such children in the state. As per the new survey, Barmer district has the highest 18.2% children who did not receive any vaccination. The percentage of children who were not administered any vaccine is 9.9% in Bikaner. While a district which witnessed commendable increase in the percentage of fully immunized children was Dausa, where the number of fully immunized kids jumped from 73.5% as per AHS 2011-12, to 83.1% (AHS 2012-13). During the last financial year, 79.6% children aged 12-23 months received 3 doses of DTP vaccine, 83.5% received measles vaccine, 80.8% received 3 doses of polio vaccine and 91.5% children received BCG vaccine in the state. In contrast, as per AHS 2011-12, only 76.1% kids had received 3 doses of DTP, 81.5% children had received measles vaccine, 78.1% received 3 doses of polio vaccine and 91.1% received the BCG vaccine.
