Mining skill
After call centres, will it be the mining sector? A us-based mining equipment manufacturer is all set to outsource its products from India. Brookeville Equipment Corporation (bec) has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Bharat Earth Movers Limited (beml), a Bangalore-based public sector undertaking, for manufacturing mining equipment. Indian manufacturing outsourcing has been basically done to cater to the export requirements to the Asian, Chinese and Australian markets.
"India has a huge English speaking population and technically skilled manpower for the equipment manufacturing business. This is a strong point for the country to be a manufacturing base for us,' said Dalph McNeil, president and chief executive officer, bec.
