CCS 2014: what lies in store for CCS?
This publication represents a continuation of efforts by IEA to provide strategic, economic and policy analysis on various aspects of carbon capture and storage. CCS has suffered from a lack of attention by public and policy-makers over the past several years. At the same time, science increasingly points to the dangers of climate change and various mitigation plans continue to emphasise the critical role of CCS to limit temperature increase. It is necessary to now concentrate on concrete action. This publication intends to help support governments and industry in moving this important low-carbon technology forward. CCS-2014 discusses important issues regarding CO2 storage, CCS in industrial applications and the role that CO2 utilisation could have in climate change mitigation.
