Negative impact of chemicals and fertilizers in farming - Question raised in Rajya Sabha, 06/02/2014
Replying to a question in the Rajya Sabha on the role of chemicals and fertilizers in land degradation and whether the government has taken any steps to check degradation, Tariq Anwar, the Minister Of Agriculture And Food Processing Industries said that "the Government is promoting balanced use of fertilizers through soil test based judicious use of chemical fertilizers in conjunction with organic manures, use of customized fertilizers etc to minimize adverse effect on the agricultural land" and also presented statewise arable degraded lands of India.
