For more transparency

in the near future, chemical and hazardous industries will have to make available information regarding risks associated with their operations and products. The ministry of environment and forests recently finalised a notification to this effect, making it compulsory for all existing and upcoming chemical and hazardous industries to make public disclosures about the risk they pose to the population residing in their vicinity. Besides the local administration, non-governmental organisations and citizens can get the information on demand.

The rules on "emergency planning, preparedness and response to chemical accidents' will also form a four-tier sys tem for chemical disaster management.
