India: rural water supply and sanitation project for low income states - social management framework
This report, Social Management Framework (SMF) prepared as a result of the synthesis of Social Assessment (SA) conducted in the four states (Assam, Bihar, Jharkahand and Uttar Pradesh) in the context of preparing the World Bank assisted Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWSS) for Low Income States (LIS) has the following objectives: To (i) support in accomplishing the development objectives of the Project; (ii) integrate social inclusion, equity, cohesion, accountability, safeguards, risk management and sustainability strategies in the structures, institutions and interventions; and (iii) that the project interventions will not cause significant adverse social impacts and that all project activities comply with the laws, regulations and policies of India and the social safeguard policies of the World Bank.
