Household greenhouse gas emissions from two rural Maharashtrian villages

This study’s main aim was to observe tribal household energy habits and determine their relationship to subsequent greenhouse gas emissions. It attempted to classify emissions based upon household economic and compositional factors and analysed five emission sources, including cooking/boiling, lighting, machinery, wasteburning and religious activities. Furthermore, it developed two data collection tools, namely a Survey and an Observation, as well as an indirect method for emissions estimation based on Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change standards.
