THE National Param Super Computer Centre in Pune is developing one of the world's largest computers which will become operational by 1998, according to Vijay P Bhatkar, executive director, Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC). The computer, costing between Rs 50 to 70 crore, would first be commercially installed at the giant rnetrleo wave radio telescope station at Narayangaon near Pune. to The c-DAc will also offer data ware- housing technology soon, in coopera@eo tion with Germany-based concern, Software AG, which will have usefu application in areas like the educational sector, the financial sector, th healthcare sector and the telecom sector.
