Nine new crop varieties
the Chaudhury Charan Singh Agricultural University in Haryana has developed nine new crop varieties that are qualitatively better than their existing counterparts. These new varieties, hkr 46 of rice, hd 123 of cotton, coh 92 of sugarcane, hp 8601 and hhb 94 of bajra, Haryana channa number 3 of gram, Vikrant of Fababean and two single cross hybrids of maize, hhm 1 and hhms-2, yielded satisfactory results done on during field trials, said vice-chancellor Vinay Kumar.
Acceding to the recommendations of the Variety Release Committee (vrc), a panel headed by agriculture commissioner and secretary Naseem Ahmed released these varieties for general cultivation in the state, Kumar said.
