AN END TO BLASTS
A division bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court has directed the state chief secretary and the state pollution control board to stop all stone quarrying and blasting operations around Kukatpally area in light of the report submitted by the Andhra Pradesh pollution control board. The report had said that the quarrying and blasting operations in the Ranga Reddy district had not only caused serious air and sound pollution but has also jeopardised the railway bridges and the rail track of the Hyderabad-Wadi line. The report also said that the quarrying operations was affecting the Manjeera waterline .
