Warm situation

COMPUTER simulation models from the Canadian Meteorological Centre and the Hadley Centre in the United Kingdom have predicted a drastic change of us climate in the 21st century. Results of the report indicate that with the increase in temperature, severe summers and milder winters are expected. This, coupled with excess carbon dioxide would enhance agriculture and forestry but weak ecosystems such as alpine meadows and coral reefs would suffer.

According to Anthony Janetos of the World Resources Institute, these should not be taken as specific predictions but only as a reasonable depiction of the future based on the current understanding. Global warming will bring about changes but we cannot accurately predict the direction in which they will take us.
