DVB PRIVATISATION
The Supreme Court has expressed serious concern over the financial mess in the Delhi Vidyut Board (DVB) and asked the Delhi government to file an affidavit detailing steps taken for privatisation of the board. A division bench comprising Justices G T Nanavati and S N Phukan observed "If you are incapable of preventing power thefts, collecting arrears and checking your offices, why don't you take steps towards privatisation of the board.' The government had appointed the Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India (ICICI) as a consultant for working out the plan.
