ORDER ON FLY ASH
Responding to a fresh petition on fly ash management, the Delhi High Court issued notices to the Centre and asked the government to place before it the latest position on the proposed notification. The court issued notices on a plea by Centre for Public Interest Litigation (CPIL) seeking early finalisation of a draft notification on the management of fly ash discharged by thermal power stations in the country. CPIL counsel Arvind Nigam said the Supreme Court had, in an order passed in 1996, laid down clear guidelines for the use of fly ash while ordering relocation of Delhi's 246 brick kilns
