Guidelines for Central Rural Sanitation Programme: Total Sanitation Campaign
The study presents the revised approach in the programme which emphasizes more on Information, Education and Communication (IEC), Human Resource Development, Capacity Building and Hygiene Education for effective behaviour change or activities to increase awareness among the rural people and generation of demand for sanitary facilities with involvement of PRIs, CBOs, and NGOs etc. Also looks at "demand driven approach" is to be adopted with increased emphasis on awareness creation and demand generation for sanitary facilities in houses, schools and for cleaner environment.
