Airy assets
Compressed air energy storage is one of the several energy storage technologies developed for the power industry. There are two separate portions in the storage cycle: compression and expansion. A compressor pumps high-pressure air into an underground reservoir (salt dome, porous media, or hard rock) using a motor or generator. Then the expander section is disconnected and the plant uses external power from the grid. When power is required by the grid, the expander is connected to the motor or generator to produce electricity .Air from the reservoir is heated twice in a recuperator and a combustion chamber before it enters the expansion system (Power Engineering International, US, Vo12,No 3).
