wind power in sri lanka
The Sri Lankan ministry of irrigation and power has decided to explore the possibility of harnessing wind potential to meet the country's growing demand for power. According to the minister for power, Anuruddha Ratwatte, a feasibility study would soon be conducted and would cover the whole island to assess the potential of wind power. Recently a wind power project was set up at Kajuwatte in the Hambantota district. It is capable of generating three megawatts of power.
