ECO TOURISM

The volatile political climate seems to have no effect on eco-tourism which is flourishing in Sri Lanka, famous for its beaches. In what has come to be termed as the new age of eco-tourism, the tourists, mostly from the north are more interested in the culture, tradition and history of the country than going out for shopping and relaxing on the beaches. One example of this new trend is catered by the Woodlands network in the hill station of Banderawela. Here the tourists spend their time trying to live life in a typically traditional Sinhalese way and follow a routine which would do any Sinhalese proud.
